If you have been in an auto accident and are experiencing dizziness symptoms, you may have received a concussion and this should be evaluated and treated as quickly as possible.  It is important to keep activity low as it may just become too difficult to focus on any task at hand.  At Blakely Chiropractic, we have a full understanding as to what an individual is experiencin after an auto accident, and dizziness is just one of the many factors you may be feeling.  When the neck is forced in to a sudden unexpected movement, the brain can shift in your skull.  This can cause damage, bottom line, and is most likely the cause of the dizziness you are experiencing.  If you have been in an auto accident are feeling dizzy, please contact us immediately!

We offer a free consultation and can help you mitigate the dizziness feeling!

Auto Injuries:  Dizziness

Any sort of trauma to your head or neck can create "dizziness" related symptoms.  That is why auto accidents (outside of physical sports activities), is one of the top sources of dizziness symptoms.  Again, this is most like related to a concussion.  In the old days we used to simply say an individual got "their bell rung" and just advise them to take a little bit of time to shake it off.  But with a large amount of medical and research, a concussion is a VERY critical injury and can cause extreme damage to not only your body, but your mind.

Symptoms That Correlate with Dizziness and an Auto Injury

Feeling like the room is spinning or moving, making it hard to walk or maintain balance
Being nauseous or actually vomiting
Having a difficult time concentrating, losing focus easily

While still be studied, signs point to dizziness symptoms beginning or occurin when ear fluid is thrown off-balance during the auto accident.  Once these crystals are displaced, it can wreak havoc on your body's ability to correclty decipher whether you are moving or staying still.  This will ultimately affect your balance and cause the sensation of feeling "dizzy".

There is also a condition referred to as "cervicogenic dizziness" which may be caused by damage to the cervical spine, which correlates with whiplash in an auto injury. This in turn may disrupt the vestibular system which regulates postural control.

To reiterate, it is VERY important that you seek an evaluation and treatment.  Please call us today!
